What is a Traffic Exchange?
A traffic exchange (TE for short) is
based on the barter system at its most basic level.
They started as a "you view my site - I’ll view your
site." They can be a great free advertising
venue when used properly.
There are two basic ways that traffic exchanges
can be used. You can view others sites to generate
credits to have your site viewed or you can purchase
views. I don’t recommend buying any upgrades until
your business can pay for those upgrades.
To generate the page views you look at other
peoples offers and wait for a timer to run down.
This timer is usually 10 to 15 seconds. When the
timer has completed the count down you will see a
set of icons.
There will be a main picture and usually four
other pictures to choose from. You click on the
matching picture and you received the allotted
credit for your page view.
The page will then change and show you a new
offer. The timer will be reset and the count down
start all over.
It is a very simple process and a free way for
you to create advertising for your business.
If you have used the TEs in the past
with no luck, do not worry about that. This form of
advertising does not work for most types of sales.
